About us

A place where children can simply be children.

At Kita Zitterbacke, we care for children from 11 months until they start school. Above all, we want to give them a place where they feel comfortable, try new things, explore the world around them and find their own way.

Every child brings their own personality, strengths and needs. We want to see, understand and value what makes each child unique. Movement, language, imagination and genuine social interaction are all an important part of everyday life at our Kita.

Our Approach

Our educational work is based on the Situational Approach (Situationsansatz), which places children’s everyday lives and the experiences of their families at the heart of learning. Working closely and openly with parents is an important part of this from the very beginning.

Our work is also guided by the Berlin Educational Programme (Berliner Bildungsprogramm) and the QVTAG. During the settling-in period, we combine elements of both the Berlin and Munich models.

Activities

At Zitterbacke, learning doesn’t stop at the playroom door. We want children to experience all kinds of things, indoors and outdoors, through creativity and movement, together with others and in their own individual way.

We also have an annual Kita sleepover and an annual Kita trip, as well as educational and psychosocial support provided by two qualified graduate educators.

Forrest Days

Twice a month, we head out into the forest – exploring nature, getting active, observing the world around us and simply enjoying being outdoors.

Once a month, we visit the library and discover new books and stories together.

During our swimming course, children can become more confident in the water and work towards their Seepferdchen swimming badge.

Growing up healthy

Fresh fruit is available every day, and we regularly cook and bake together with the children. As a certified “Kita mit Biss”, healthy habits are an important part of everyday life at our Kita.
